Iona Blues Pendant

‘Iona Blues’ is inspired by the colours of the sea around Iona and south west Mull near where I live. I am not the only person to refer to the colours of the sea here as Iona Blues, it is very distinctive.

I have long adored those beautiful turquoise blue seas and this pendant was designed to integrate those colours in one piece of jewellery. The pendant is made up of 3 separate rings that are enamelled in pale blue, turquoise and dark blue.

The pendant hangs loosely on a twisted silver chain. This looseness makes the pendant dynamic as it moves and twists as the wearer moves. Sometimes it lies on the enamelled blue side and sometimes on the silver side that is indented with a wave pattern. Sometimes the 3 rings lie flat and sometimes they stack. The wearer could easily turn one ring around so there is a mix of silver and colour on each side.

There is a similar version of the pendant available in pink and green enamel called Around the Blooming Heather.

The pendant measures 2.4 cm in diameter and it hangs directly from a twisted sterling silver chain which can be 16″, 18″, 20″ or 22″ long. The 3 rings are separate, the largest ring has an outer diameter of 2.4cm.

My jewellery is pure silver and is handmade from recycled silver by me here in the beautiful Isle of Mull.

There is an Iona Blue earring in the turquoise enamel.

Each piece will be presented in a blue box embossed with ‘Drift’ and wrapped up as a gift.
