Isle of Mull & Iona Arts & Crafts

The islands of Mull and Iona on the West coast of Scotland are home to many artists. With the turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and breathtaking landscapes its easy to see why; inspiration is plentiful. What better inspiration than nature itself?

The Isle of Iona is known by many for the Abbey, it has also been a muse for artists for decades, if not centuries. The waters are crystal clear and the sands appear brilliant white. Imagine sitting on a quiet spot of Iona watching a corn crake in the grass, a peacefulness like nowhere else. Perhaps that’s why there are so many artists living on Iona itself, you may even spot some of their work here.

Tobermory on the Isle of Mull has always been an identifiable town with its cheerful coloured houses and famous Tobermory Whiskey. One of the most impressive things about Mull is that the weather has the ability to completely transform the landscape on it’s head within seconds, on the very same day you may see blue skies and a pod of dolphins swimming in Tobermory bay, followed by lashings of rain beating off the heather on the glen, everything turning from a spectrum of colour in to a monochrome wilderness. Islands with a quicksilver temperament, brimming with flora and fauna around every corner.
